Ad van Zon
Ad van Zon was born in Heerewaarden in 1952. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory (1968 - 1974). At the same time he played in the National Youth Orchestra in 1969. In 1970 he played in the World Youth Orchestra. Since 1972 he has been a member of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and from 1983 to the present he has been principal trumpeter. He has been playing in the Dutch Brass Quintet since 1976.
Ad is a principal subject teacher at the Rotterdam Conservatory
(1982) and principal subject teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (1985).
