Annejaap Soldaat was born in 1981 in Dokkum.
He started taking music lessons on the trumpet and later on the cornet with Klaas van der Woude. He also attended theory classes with Klaas van der Woude. Subsequently, Annejaap received organ lessons from Arie Goud. He also took some singing lessons with Sjoukje Kooistra. Annejaap won the first prize at the Interclassic competition.
After singing in chamber choirs and male choirs for years, Annejaap gradually began to take on more solo roles. He also occasionally filled in as a choir conductor.
Currently, he is the conductor of the Christian mixed choir 'Looft den Heer' in Wijnjewoude, the interchurch choir Gorredijk (IKG), and the Christian male choir 'Patrimonium' in Leeuwarden. He regularly performs with these choirs.
As a soloist, Annejaap is invited to participate in various concerts. Highlights include the Christmas concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in collaboration with Leander van der Steen. He is also available for funeral and wedding services.
In addition to conducting and soloing, Annejaap accompanies (congregational) singing on the church organ and piano during church services and choir performances.
