Arie Kortleven (1965) received his first organ lessons at the age of 8. After several years, he studied organ with Cees het Jonk and Peter Eilander. He graduated from the conservatory in Zwolle under Nico Waasdorp in 1989. He completed his further study in General Musical Education in 1991. In 1989, Arie became the conductor of the young mixed choir Laudate Deum.
Arie is also the conductor of the Christian Men's Choir Jeduthun from Amersfoort (since 1998), the mixed choir Met hart en stem from Veenendaal (since 2013), and the Gelders Men's Ensemble (since 2012). Additionally, he has conducted various other choirs for shorter or longer periods.
In addition to the concerts given by the aforementioned choirs, he regularly participates in concerts with other choirs. He has his own teaching practice where he gives organ and piano lessons. Furthermore, he is a music teacher at the Jacobus Fruytier School Community. During Sunday worship services, he accompanies congregational singing on the organ at the Eben – Haezer Church in Apeldoorn.
