From around the age of eight, Arjan took organ lessons with various local church organists.
He then pursued literature playing lessons with Aldert van Hoornaar in Werkendam and improvisation lessons with Gerben Mourik in Oudewater.
Following that, he took several choir conducting lessons with Patrick van der Linden.
He also received organ and piano lessons from Roeland de Reuver in Capelle aan den IJssel and currently receives lessons from Arjan Versluis in Gorinchem.
As a resident church organist, he is associated with four Reformed parish communities in Ridderkerk. He also fills in as an accompanist for various choirs in the region.
