Bovenstemgroep ''Barneveld''

The Bovenstemgroep Barneveld consists of a large group of men who meet every two weeks on Tuesday evenings in the church of Ger. Gem. Barneveld Centre to sing. Since the foundation of the group in September 2011, the group has grown considerably.
The group currently consists of more than 180 people, which includes not only the elderly but also many young people.
The men do not only come from Barneveld, but from the wider area of Barneveld.
Not all 180 people come to sing, there are also those who would like to get the information from the group by means of the mailing. Every time on the biweekly rehearsal evenings, about 50 to 60 men (and sometimes even more) come to the church to practice the Upper Voice, but also for social contact and socializing among each other.
Given the turnout time and time again, we can safely say that the upper voice is also sung in our region. Our regular organist (Willem Wessels), who has also been part of the group from the beginning, comes every two weeks from Rijssen to accompany the group on the organ. We also have our own conductor (Mr. Gerritsen) who we are very happy with. The conductor's indication of how to sing is of great importance.
We are grateful to the consistory that we can hold our rehearsal evenings in church, and also use the beautiful organ. The upper voice group regularly participates in psalm singing evenings with upper voice that are organized for a good cause that are held in the region, but also outside the region. Several recordings have already been made of these psalm singing evenings with upper voice, which can also be listened to on ''Familystream''.
The ''Upper Voice Setting'' that we sing is by Henriette de Bat van Maelsaeke from Kruiningen. A great beautiful setting that gives a beautiful sound to many psalms. The Bovenstemgroep Barneveld only sings psalms and a few hymns in a non-rhythmic way.
