Bel Canto is a choir with between 30 and 35 members and is led enthusiastically by Mirjam Bastiaansen. The musical accompaniment is in the hands of Heleen van Els.

History: At the end of 1980, the youth council of the parish received a request to set up a youth choir. A number of 15/16 year olds came up with this idea. The then chairman of the youth council brought this item to the meeting.
The official founding meeting was on 24 April 1981 and the name of the choir became Bel Canto.
Bel Canto is now a middle choir. A choir that is affiliated as a church choir with the parish of the municipality of Biddinghuizen. They are therefore not an association and are not registered with the Chamber of Commerce. We participate in celebrations in the church, but also perform outside, such as in the Regenboog, the annual coffee concert in the Tas, the Music Festival, etc.
If you are interested: you are most welcome to come and sing along on a rehearsal evening. Feel free to come and sing along once or twice, you do not have to register in advance, just come along. Who knows, we may welcome you as a new member afterwards?
