Cor Ploeg was born on 3 May 1971 in Genemuiden. From the age of 8 he received organ lessons at the music school in Kampen. He then continued his studies with the well-known organists Harry Hamer and Jan Zwanepol. Cor Ploeg is currently studying organ at the Conservatory in Zwolle where he is taught by Dorthy de Rooy and Harm Jansen. He also studied the secondary subjects piano and choir conducting there. Cor regularly participates in singing evenings and concerts. He can also often be heard at singing evenings for the benefit of the Stichting Woord en Daad in collaboration with the soprano Jantine van Voorden. He is also the conductor of four choirs.
