Evert Kuijt wrote various novels, books for young people and diaries. He was also active as a translator of books. He became especially known for his Kinderbijbel and Children's Bible, which were translated into Russian, among other things. Last autumn, Kuijt published digital Bible stories for teenagers aged 15 and over: 165 histories from the Old Testament and 145 from the New Testament.
Evert Kuijt grew up within the Reformed Congregations; he was the son of Piet Kuijt, the founder of teacher training college De Driestar. He also chose a career in education. He was also head of the Rev. John Groenewegen School in Werkendam. In 1985 he made the switch to the Dutch Reformed Church. After his teaching career he started writing for the magazine Gezinsgids.
In 1982 Kuijt and Bert Hofman founded the Christian authors' association Writing Education. In recent years, Kuijt published his books through Lucas Boeken from Tholen, who also placed these books online on a listening platform such as Familystream.
