I've been reading books for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, you could often find me hiding behind the couch, stretched out on the soft carpet, with a new book from the library (or two).
From 2003-2008 I studied Dutch language and culture at the University of Groningen. After that, I started working as an independent proofreader and editor.
I corrected children's books, novels, (theological) non-fiction, biblical diaries and more. In addition, I have given advice on first or later versions of manuscripts, guided authors in writing or organizing their texts, and occasionally create reading questions for novels, which can be used by book clubs.
In 2022-2023 I followed the basic Creative Writing in Education course at Dactylus, a fantastic, in-depth study where I discovered how much fun it is to teach groups. I am always amazed when I give an assignment and see what kind of special texts people will write because of it. Even if they say in advance that they 'have nothing to do with writing'.
