George Wiegel was born in Schiedam in 1956. He studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Gerard Velthuijsen. He was successively a principal trombonist at the Regional Orchestra, the Overijssels Philharmonic, the Gelders Orchestra and the Radio Philharmonic.
