The oboist Henk Swinnen, born in 1970, studied at the conservatories of Brussels and Rotterdam under Paul Dombrecht, Thomas Indermühle, and Emanuel Abbühl.
Since 1994, he has been the principal oboist of the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra and, since 2005, of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a permanent member of the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam for more than ten years. Additionally, he worked as an oboe teacher at the Rotterdam Conservatory.
