Henriëtte van Maelsaeke was born in 1971 in Zwijndrecht. Already at a young age she received organ lessons from the well-known former organist of the Grote Kerk in Dordrecht, Mr. Cor Visser. In 1985 she obtained the A church organist diploma from the V.O.G.G. She also took improvisation lessons with Henk C. de Gelder and Herman Lammers, after which she took lessons with Frans van Tilburg. Since 1988 she has been the conductor of various children's choirs, namely: Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Werkendam, Ridderkerk, Vlaardingen and Alblasserdam. She can regularly be heard with these choirs during singing evenings. She is also an organist at a mixed choir in Hardinxveld-Giessendam.
