Herman Drost
Herman received his first trumpet lessons from his father in September 1955. He became a member of the Harmonie Nunspeet, and soon he was playing his part. He then received lessons from the late Jac. Brother. He took his first exam at the age of 10 with the famous composer Gerard Boedijn.
At Christmas 1956 he played in church for the first time, together with his father and brother Henk. From the age of 18, Herman and his brother Henk regularly played in churches, together with choirs.
They were permanent trumpeters with the Ver. for 13 years. Veluwe Choirs.
A highlight occurred in 1981, when they collaborated with the V.V.K. played in the palace garden on Soestdijk, at Queen Juliana's last parade.
Herman was now taking lessons with Dick Radstake at the Municipal Music School in Amersfoort. He graduated with the annotation “praise”.
Herman celebrated his 40th trumpet anniversary in September 1995
Herman & his son Henk-Jan have been a permanent duo since 1988. They quickly gained fame and played with choirs throughout the country. From that time on they also regularly taught trumpet and organ
concerts.
In 1990 they made the first concert tour to Canada. This was so successful that 4 more followed in the following years. They also performed with choirs in Canada. They have played all over Canada and are now a household name there.
They also performed in Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
They collaborated on radio, TV and CD recordings.
Herman & Henk-Jan play exclusively classical and spiritual repertoire. In their playing they try to reflect what their Creator has given them in terms of talent.
