During the anniversary concert on 12 November 2005, a special event took place: the presentation of a book about the history of the choir, entitled: “Euterpe: forty years of male choir”. 1965 – 2005
After a linguistic explanation of each of the words hidden behind the designation “IMK Euterpe”, the writer introduces himself, with a photo, as follows:
”I am Aart van Drie, writer of this book, member and honorary member of the Interchurch Male Choir Euterpe, for 20 years I have enjoyed the privilege of being chairman of this fine choir. I have been a member since 1968, and now that I am writing this in 2004, I am still allowed to be one and I hope to remain so for many years to come. And yet another privilege, I am now allowed to compile and write this book. Aart van Drie.” With a few sources and well-chosen words, Aart presented the first copy to Jan Hardon, the acting chairman of the male choir Euterpe, which publishes the book as a choir.
Aart then presented a second copy to the mayor of the municipality of Barneveld, Mr. Houben, who responded spontaneously and warmly.
The book gives a chronological overview of what has happened in all those forty years, per year. The whole is interspersed with anecdotes and is also richly provided with photos from all times. A book to savor, unique in its kind!
