The youth choir "Viva Vox" in Elspeet was founded on May 7, 1983. The name "Viva Vox" means: living voice. In addition to psalms, the repertoire of the youth choir contains both Dutch and English spiritual songs. The accompanying instrument is the organ; this is played by Jan Post, who has been organist of the youth choir since its inception. The youth choir was conducted by Jan van het Goor for four years. Marcel van de Ketterij has been a conductor of the youth choir since 1987. The youth choir, which had 25 members when it was founded, has grown to 75 members, ranging in age from 15 years to 35 years. Every year the youth choir performs in their own hometown, and also in nursing homes for disabled, elderly or sick people in the region. Participation in singing services is provided upon invitation.
