At the age of nine I started taking organ lessons at the music school in Ermelo. After moving to Heemse (Hardenberg) in 1993, I continued my organ training under the direction of Freddy Veldkamp.
After high school I went to the conservatory in Zwolle. There I studied school music, organ, piano and church music. In June 2004 I obtained my main subject diploma organ as a student of Harm Jansen.
In addition, I took improvisation lessons with the well-known Groningen organist Sietze de Vries and piano lessons with Herman Riphagen from Heerde. I also studied theology for a number of years at the Theological University (GKv) in Kampen.
What I do a lot and like to do is accompany choirs on both organ and piano, at concerts and CD recordings. It is fantastic to be able to work with conductors such as Harm Hoeve, André van Vliet, Edwin Velvis, Bert Duijst and Minne Veldman. Choir trips have already taken me to various European countries, but also to Canada and the United States of America. As an organist and pianist I was allowed to participate a number of times in the well-known EO program 'Nederland Zingt'.
In addition, I like to be involved in composing and arranging (mainly) choral and organ music.
