Laura Trompetter followed her bachelor's and master's degree at Codarts, the
Rotterdam Conservatory. During her studies, she won prizes at various
competitions including the Princess Christina Competition, the Grachtenfestival
Conservatory Competition, she made it to the national finals of the
Eurovision Young Musician and won the YAMAHA Percussion Scholarship.
In between, Laura completed her courses with a 9.5 and a 9 and deepened
during her Master's studies in the combination of percussion and theatre.
Since then, Laura has been performing with various theatre companies and working together
with directors Herman van Veen, Ruut Weismann, Katrien van Beurden and
Erik van der Horst. Laura regularly appears on TV with various music
programs and in 2016 Laura was the soloist in the program Meastro and
she then worked on an episode of the program Klokhuis.
Laura is
a regular player in the music theatre ensemble Neo-Fanfare 9x13 and drummer
of the performance Sincereley Yours, directed by Herman Van Veen.
She also founded the Lip Stick Percussion Duo with Maria Martinez
Paya and was the percussionist in the band of the Toppers in Amsterdam Arena.
Laura is currently touring the Netherlands with Thomas Acda with his new
theatre performance Motel and is working on her first solo performance where the
The emphasis is on percussion, theatre and personal awareness.
In addition to being a performing musician, Laura is a percussion teacher and conducts percussion
ensemble. Laura is a versatile musician with a great passion for theatre and
performance that makes her an eccentric percussionist.
