Born in Rotterdam in 1988, the pianist Lennart Morée received his first music lessons aged 6. His first piano lessons were with André Keijzer, after which he took improvisation lessons from Jan Bonefaas, among others. Later he continued his studies at the conservatory with Mila Baslawskaja and Bernard Winsemius. He also attended masterclasses with Willem Tanke and Jean Bernard Pommier. Lennart performs regularly not only as a soloist but also as an accompanist, appearing at De Doelen in Rotterdam and other major venues. Lennart completed his Master’s degree in Piano Performance with Distinction in 2012, studying with Stéphane de May. He is particularly interested in improvisation and composition and his final exam included a study of the French composer Claude Debussy (1862-1918), which resulted in a number of compositi ons in Debussy’s style.
