Men's choir Eneas was founded in 1997, then under the direction of Willem Bakker from Urk. However, he had to resign from his position a few years later due to busy work and handed over the baton to Jaap Mansveld. Under his direction, the men's choir, consisting of 35 members, made a CD entitled 'Blessed by Your Mild Hand'. This CD can be ordered via the form that you can find on the contact page. In 2004 the choir made a concert tour to Romania. There are also many plans and ideas ahead for the future.
Since 2005 Hendrik van Veen has been the regular organist/pianist of Eneas.When in the year 2011 Jaap Mansveld has been conductor for 10 years and wants to resign from his position, he hands over the baton to Hendrik van Veen in September 2011.
The repertoire consists of arrangements of Psalms, spiritual and patriotic songs.
The choir rehearses every Thursday evening from 20:00 to 21:15 in the canteen of Fish Processing Company Dayseaday in Urk. Afterwards there is an opportunity to eat a fried fish.
