Marieke Booy-Elbertsen studied violin at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, where she completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees under the tutelage of Els Krieg and Thijs Kramer. She has attended masterclasses with notable figures such as Leonidas Kavakos, Jeremy Menuhin (chamber music), the Vermeer Quartet, Shmuel Ashkenazy, and many others.
Marieke works as a concertmaster for Stichting Ars Musica. With Ars Musica, she had the opportunity to record Bach's St. Matthew Passion for NPO2, where she played the famous Erbarme Dich aria as a soloist. She also performed as concertmaster and soloist for the recording and broadcast of Handel’s Messiah. Additionally, she collaborates with various other orchestras, including Naska, with whom she toured Germany and Poland. She has performed at numerous special events, including the wedding of the late Prince Friso and Mabel Wisse Smit. Marieke has played in all the major concert halls in the Netherlands and at festivals, working with many inspiring artists.
A highly sought-after violinist, Marieke has numerous CD recordings to her name and is involved in theatrical productions and workshops. She also collaborates with bands.
Since 2009, Marieke has run a successful violin teaching practice in Putten and leads the Veluws Jeugd Ensemble. She regularly performs with her own ensemble, which can adapt to various configurations and provides intimate house concerts, as well as music for special events and corporate presentations.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Marieke collaborates with children's author Willemijn de Weerd. Their debut performance, Ik stuur je de zon (I’ll Send You the Sun), was an immediate success. Since then, they have created numerous educational performances for schools, libraries, and other venues. Currently, they give more than 100 performances per year.
