Martin van Moort started playing the recorder at the age of 8. Soon the flute was added. He finished his lessons on the flute at the Goeree-Overflakkee music school by taking the D-exam. He did this with teacher Cecilia McColl. He then took private lessons with Lisette van den Broek. Since 2007 he has also been receiving oboe from Lieke Loosjes. He plays as an oboist in the Zeeland Reformed Orchestra Convocare and regularly plays in various ensembles.
