Martinus Leusink (Boy Soprano, Tenor)

The Dutch tenor and former boy soprano, Martinus Leusink, joined as a six-year-old the Holland Boys Choir, which his father, Pieter Jan Leusink had just founded. Martinus has received singing lessons from his father since he was a young child both as a soloist and as a chorister. The young treble developed a fine soprano voice of international distinction and became the main soloist in the choir. He sang the part of "Erster Knabe" in a performance of Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence in France.
As a soloist, Martinus Leusink has contributed to several CD-Recordings, among which the Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater (with Sytse Buwalda) and J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244). After his vocal change, he grew into an accomplished tenor.
