Noortje van Middelkoop studied at the Conservatory in Hilversum with the Romanian pan flute player Nicolae Pîrvu.
She graduated laude from the Teaching Musician exam and graduated a few years later for the Performing Musician diploma. She also attended masterclasses with Simion Stanciu and Georghe Zamfir.
As a pan flute player, Noortje gives various concerts together with choirs and other instrumentalists. She also plays in various duo line-ups: with the organists Harm Hoeve, Martin Mans and André van Vliet and with the pianist Jan Lenselink.
Noortje has made solo CDs in various line-ups: organ, piano, combo and symphony orchestra. In addition, she has worked on radio, television, DVD and many CD recordings.
Noortje writes pan flute music and songs, and has made concert tours through England, Israel, Romania, Canada, America and Australia, among others.
