The love for the horn instrument originated from Oeds Jongsma, music teacher at the music school in Drachten and the love for music in general arose from the musical atmosphere in his parental home. That is why the choice was made to study Hoorn with Oldrich Milek. At the Conservatories in Groningen and Zwolle, Pier obtained the diploma for teaching and performing musician. At the moment he works as a music teacher at the Hoornbeeck College in Kampen and Amersfoort and as a brass teacher (trumpet and horn) at cultuurkust in Harderwijk. He also has a number of private students.
Also he is a choir conductor, plays as a horn player with the Hineni Symphony Orchestra and collaborates as a horn soloist with choirs. The French horn plays the leading role on this stream. An instrument with a beautiful warm sound. The combination of organ and horn is unique.
