Ron van Ommen, born in 1965 in Rotterdam, took his first organ lessons at the age of 8 at the Music School in Capelle a/d IJssel. He then took lessons from Wim Koen and continued his studies with the well-known organist Martin Mans, from whom he received literary and improvisation lessons.
After many years as an organist he participated in singing and organ evenings, he became increasingly interested in taking up the baton as well. In 2006 he was asked if he was interested in leading our choir. Ron didn't have to think long about this. Since 1 March 2006 he has been the conductor of our Men's Choir. In addition, Ron is also the conductor of the Chr. Compound Men's Choir Zeeland and of the youth choir Jedaja in Nieuw-Lekkerland.
Ron Hubbard's central theme is that the text that is sung is delivered as a message.
He pays a lot of attention to clear articulation, so that the content is easily understood by the listener. Together with our choir he has been able to release a number of CDs, on which this is clearly noticeable.
