Sander Donze - boys' mezzo-soprano Peter Alexander Donze was born on October 24, 1980 in the Joost van den Vondellaan in Zeist. From the age of six he sang in children's choirs. So Sander started with the local youth choir 'Chaverim'. At the age of nine he was admitted to the well-known National Children's Choir conducted by Silvère van Lieshout. It was at the insistence of Sander's great-nephew, the well-known organist Martin Mans, that he came under the musical care of the singing pedagogue Pieter Vis in Houten in the spring of 1994 at the age of 13. A year later, on 1 April 1995, Sander made his successful debut as a soprano soloist in Kurt Weill's chamber opera 'Der Jasager' (libretto: Berthold Brecht) in the Ned. Herv. Church of Naaldwijk. The mixed choir 'Art for the People' and an ad hoc orchestra were conducted by Maud Meilof.
In addition to singing lessons, Sander also takes organ lessons, previously with Albert van der Hoeven from Zeist and now with the organist Wout van Andel in Driebergen. This Zeist boy soprano participated in various national liberation, Christmas and church concerts. He also sang classical and popular songs that have been released on a number of compact discs of his singing teacher. After primary school, Sander went through the MAVO. He is currently doing HAVO at the Chr. Lyceum in his hometown.
