Severin van Dijk was born in 1983 in Rotterdam. Severin's musical career began with playing the recorder. After 2 years he switched to the flute. At a young age, he managed to win several prizes at various soloist competitions in the Netherlands (including the Princess Christina Competition).
At the age of 17, Severin makes his first solo album. Since then, the whole of the Netherlands has known where to find him. He quickly becomes known, partly because of his own sound in which he manages to distinguish himself. In 2008 he released a second CD called "Solo". On this CD, classical works are performed and he is accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
As a musician, he is a frequent guest at concerts of choirs and gospel bands.
He has also worked on more than 150 CD and DVD productions and often participated in TV programs (including EO's Nederland Zingt). In addition, Severin is a flautist with professional accompaniment orchestras.
In addition to his handmade flute with Lavin headjoint, Severin also plays the piccolo, the alto flute and a number of tin whistles.
As a conductor, Severin has been the musical director of youth choirs "Into the Light" from Bleskensgraaf, "Challenge" from Dordrecht, "Salvation" from Hardinxveld-Giessendam and "Vox Jubilans" from Waddinxveen.
