Shamáti Willemse is a young enthusiastic harpist who remains fascinated by the feeling of the strings under her fingers and the sounds she produces with them.

From an early age she loved music and a big dream came true when she auditioned for the bachelor of Classical Music Harp at the age of 16 and was accepted with unanimous votes. She is currently studying with Manja Smits.

She loves to play together and forms several ensembles with a variety of instrument combinations. In addition, she regularly plays with orchestras that need a harpist to expand their instrumentation and she is first harpist of the VKSO.

As a soloist, Shamáti won the incentive prize and the prize for the best performed compulsory work in the highest category at the 6th edition of the Rosa Spier Harp Competition in 2022.
Two years later she was in the finals of the same competition and won the 2nd prize and during the Princess Christina Competition of 2024 Shamáti played in the regional finals and received the 2nd prize.
