United Veluwe Choirs
The United Veluwse Choirs were founded in 1965 and consist of 4 independent choirs
from places on the North-West Veluwe. These 4 choirs are:
the Chr. Avg. Zangver. “Crescendo” from Hulshorst
the Chr. Avg. Zangver. “Euödia” from Hierden
the Reformed Church Choir from Ermelo
the Gem. Zangver. “de Lofstem” from Putten
The V.V.K., as they are briefly called, perform in traditional Veluwe costumes. The repertoire of the United Veluwse Choirs is characterized by a great preference for simple spiritual songs, with a search for arrangements that further underline the text and have musical quality. But larger choral works are also performed with great dedication from the choir members. In the years of their existence, they have gained national fame through the many concerts, but also through radio and TV. broadcasts and by making LPs and CDs. In between these concerts, concert trips abroad are also regularly made.
The VVK is conducted by Leander van der Steen from Ede.
Bert Elbertsen, also from Ede, is the permanent organist of the V.V.K.
Our replacement conductor and organist is Martien van der Zwan.
