The Van Wassenaer Orchestra is a small symphony orchestra for and by good and advanced amateurs. Under the leadership of our enthusiastic conductor, Pieter van der Wulp, we work on our repertoire with passion, emotion and pleasure. Within our orchestra there is a pleasant atmosphere where the love for classical music, development and dedication go together. Twice a year we perform our carefully selected repertoire during our concerts where we regularly offer a stage for young talent.

Origin
The Van Wassenaer Ensemble was founded in 1986 by the violinist Janine Grabowsky. It owes its name to the Dutch musician, composer and diplomat Unico Wilhelm Count of Wassenaer (1692-1766). In 1979, musicologist Albert Dunning discovered that the six Concerti Armonici, which had been attributed to Pergolesi, Ricciotti and other composers, were in fact by Van Wassenaer. Since its foundation, the ensemble has gradually developed into a small symphony orchestra. In 2008, the name was therefore changed to Van Wassenaer Orchestra.
